Holland Patent is 0-4 against Proctor since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Holland Patent Golden Knights will head out on the road to take on the Proctor Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Holland Patent will be strutting in after a victory while Proctor will be coming in after a loss.
Holland Patent scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Adirondack 57-29 on the road. With Holland Patent ahead 32-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Terralyn McLaughlin was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. McLaughlin is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michaela Cushman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Proctor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Kennedy Catholic on the road and fell 46-18. While losing is never fun, Proctor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Kennedy Catholic is ranked 147th).
The win got Holland Patent back to even at 5-5. As for Proctor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Holland Patent couldn't quite finish off Proctor when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 42-39. Can Holland Patent avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
