The Huntsville Hornets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Randle Lions at 1:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
With a playoff game on the line, Huntsville rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Jaguars 54-28. Huntsville's victory was all the more impressive since LBJ Austin was averaging only 17.67 points allowed on the season.
Huntsville found their leader in underclassman Traeshawn Brown, who rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Brown was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakhavien Birks, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Randle can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Belton with a sharp 47-21 win. The victory was familiar territory for Randle who now have seven in a row.
Randle found their leader in underclassman Landen Callis-Williams, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Sincere Timpson was another key contributor, gaining 101 total yards and two touchdowns.
Huntsville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Randle, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Huntsville took a serious blow against Randle in their previous meeting on November 2nd, falling 35-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Randle's Callis-Williams, who rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries.
