Basketball Game Preview: Langtree Charter Academy Lions vs. Lincoln Charter Eagles

Langtree Charter Academy hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m.

Langtree Charter Academy is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game back in December of 2024. They lost 67-43 to Corvian Community.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Faithful Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Halen Hazlett, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Charter's match two weeks ago was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They breezed by North Rowan to the tune of 66-36. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

Lincoln Charter's win came from a few key players Langtree Charter Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Symphani Stevens, who put up 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Martha Guinle, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals.

Lincoln Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Lincoln Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Langtree Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Langtree Charter Academy was taken down by Lincoln Charter 60-13 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Langtree Charter Academy was down 44-1.
