The Lafayette Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Jefferson County 88-54 at home. Lafayette has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 26 points or more this season.
Lafayette's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tywan Williamson, who scored 23 points along with eight assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jalen Hill, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.
The victory (which was Lafayette's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Jefferson County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hamilton County at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Jefferson County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Wakulla Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th.
