Konos Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 65-47 bruising from Calvary Christian. Konos Academy found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
Defeat or not, Konos Academy got some senior leadership from Ben Swann and Aaron Cramer. Swann scored 18 points along with six assists and two steals, while Cramer. scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Parker Atkinson was a one-man wrecking crew for Calvary Christian as he went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. It was the first time this season that Atkinson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Liam Hocutt, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Konos Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Calvary Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Creekside Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Konos Academy will head out to face the Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Knights will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
