Barker took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wilson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lakemen 10-9. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jackson Prynn made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ireland Brady was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Munn also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Barker moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Wilson, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
