The Mt. Rainier Rams's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 65-57 win over Kamiak. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Zach Luz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Mason Emil, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Mt. Rainier now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kamiak, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Rainier won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kentridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Kentridge is ranked 180th, while Mt. Rainier is ranked 162nd). As for Kamiak, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Glacier Peak at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th.
