The Southern Guilford Storm's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-22 loss at the hands of Southeast Guilford. While losing is never fun, Southern Guilford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Southeast Guilford is ranked 219th).
Southeast Guilford found their leader in underclassman Morgan Odom, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Odom has scored at least 25% of Southeast Guilford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Stevens, who scored 7 points.
Southern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Southeast Guilford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Southern Guilford will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rockingham County at 6:30 p.m. As for Southeast Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grimsley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
