It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Star Valley Braves ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Soda Springs 71-69. Winning may never get old, but Star Valley sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Emily Dana was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Sheridan Coles was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Star Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Soda Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Star Valley will head out on the road to face off against Preston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Soda Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aberdeen at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Aberdeen is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
