The Clarke Central Gladiators will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Therrell Panthers at 12:45 p.m. on December 23rd. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Clarke Central pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of North Cobb Christian by a score of 63-61. While losing is never fun, Clarke Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while North Cobb Christian is ranked 94th).
Meanwhile, Therrell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Russell County 80-42.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Michael Woolridge, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Morion Mcwhorter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Clarke Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Therrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
