The Avalon Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sage Hill Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Avalon can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vista Meridian 37-0 on the road. Given Avalon's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Vista Meridian is ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Sage Hill strolled past Windward with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 45-26.
Sage Hill can attribute much of their success to Dylan Dilotta, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
The victory makes it two in a row for Avalon and bumps their season record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.5 points. As for Sage Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Avalon against Sage Hill in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 58-20 victory. Does Avalon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sage Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
