The Chino Valley Cougars lost against the Florence Gophers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Chino Valley was beaten by Florence 46-17.
Florence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but E.C. Turk-Francis led the charge by scoring ten points along with nine rebounds. Keylee Scarbrough was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Chino Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Chino Valley will head out on the road to face off against Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Red Rock comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Florence, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Palo Verde at 5:30 p.m.
