Agua Fria has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Peoria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Agua Fria strolled past Goldwater with points to spare, taking the game 57-43.
Agua Fria can attribute much of their success to David Shaw, who scored 19 points along with three steals, and Bryan Burrows, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Daniels jr, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Goldwater scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Peoria still came out on top. Peoria took down Goldwater 71-57.
Peoria's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nehemiah Ward, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Terrell Colenburg, who scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Colenburg has scored all season. Marcell Colenberg was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Agua Fria's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Peoria, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-16 record this season.
Agua Fria suffered a grim 67-46 defeat to Peoria when the teams last played last Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ward, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Now that Agua Fria knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
