Harbor Light Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against Boyne Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Swordsmen will take on the Loggers at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Harbor Light Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
On Tuesday, Harbor Light Christian made easy work of Mackinaw City and carried off a 16-1 victory. Considering the Swordsmen have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Will Paulus was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Atticus Cadarette was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Chamberlin, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Harbor Light Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Boyne Falls came out on top against Wolverine on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Loggers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Loggers.
The team relied heavily on Chace Rose, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennen Gould, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Harbor Light Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Boyne Falls, their record is now 2-4.
Boyne Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harbor Light Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. It's a different story for Boyne Falls, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Harbor Light Christian's hitters?
Harbor Light Christian took their win against Boyne Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Swordsmen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
