Westminster Schools of Augusta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Franks led the charge by rushing for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Franks was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Levi Ketterman also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Windsor Academy faced Holy Spirit Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Windsor Academy took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-21 victory over Holy Spirit Prep. Windsor Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 27 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windsor Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Merritt, who threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Merritt is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jay Singleton, who rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Their wins bumped Westminster Schools of Augusta to 10-1 and Windsor Academy to 9-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game Saturday as the pair have no problem gaining yardage.
