Edison is preparing for their first  league matchup of the season  on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Madera Coyotes will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 7:00  p.m. Edison is coming into the  contest on  a  four-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Madera and Merced, and Merced kept the tradition alive. The Coyotes took  a  43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears last Friday. The  matchup marked the Coyotes' lowest-scoring  game so far this season.
 Edison will need to focus on slowing down  Anthony Estrada, one of several Madera players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 169 yards and a pair of  TDs. Jayden Martinez was another key player, gaining 81 total yards and two touchdowns.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Madera  fell to 4-1. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Edison was taken down by Madera 59-20 in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024. That  contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down  31-0.
