The Ponca Indians won the last time they faced the Osmond/Randolph Hawks, and things went their way on Thursday too. Ponca took down Osmond/Randolph 49-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ponca.
Ponca got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elsie Keller out in front who scored 12 points along with three steals. Keller is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Emerson Ehlers, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Osmond/Randolph lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sophie Gansebom. Despite the final result, she scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Osmond/Randolph were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponca only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Ponca pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.1 points. As for Osmond/Randolph, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Ponca will head out on the road to face off against Irene/Wakonda at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Osmond/Randolph won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wynot at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Wynot presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osmond/Randolph in Nebraska (Wynot is ranked 46th, while Osmond/Randolph is ranked 220th).
