Brother Rice have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so Zion-Benton might have their hands full.
Brother Rice brought a eight-game winning streak into their game against Montini Catholic last Friday; they left with a nine-game streak. Brother Rice won the matchup and then some against Montini Catholic, taking the matchup 31-0. No one put up better numbers for Brother Rice than senior John Bean, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Bean's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, Zion-Benton put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the contest and then some with a 48-0 victory over Libertyville. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Their wins bumped Brother Rice to 9-0 and Zion-Benton to 5-4. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
