Even though Portage Christian scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, the Mooseheart Red Ramblers still came out on top. Mooseheart blew past Portage Christian 90-63 at home. With Mooseheart ahead 44-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooseheart to victory, but perhaps none more so than John McGowin, who scored 28 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which McGowin has scored at least 25% of Mooseheart's points. Tolu Erinolu was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
The win got Mooseheart back to even at 1-1. As for Portage Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Mooseheart will head out on the road to face off against Harvest Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portage Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Unity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Unity Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 573rd in Illinois, while Portage Christian is ranked 76th in Indiana).
