If the Menlo-Atherton Bears were riding high off their 38-7 takedown of the Burlingame Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Menlo-Atherton's rough 30-6 defeat to Los Gatos on Friday might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, Menlo-Atherton couldn't push the score so high this time.
Teddy Dacey threw for 128 yards and a touchdown while completing 88.2% of his passes. Alek Marshall was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Jordan Masuisui rushed for 42 yards.
It was another big night for Boxer Kopcsak-Yeung, who rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Kopcsak-Yeung was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Scott Garwood also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Menlo-Atherton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Los Gatos, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menlo-Atherton will take on Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Los Gatos, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Archbishop Riordan at 7:00 p.m. Archbishop Riordan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
