The McDonald County Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Carl Junction 65-60. McDonald County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carl Junction's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Vediz, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt McAfee, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
McDonald County's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carl Junction, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
McDonald County will be home for the holidays to greet Willard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Willard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McDonald County in Missouri (Willard is ranked 70th, while McDonald County is ranked 342nd). Carl Junction will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Howell at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
