Rowan Allen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Mendon let Sabrina Monroy and Jadyn Samson run wild. Monroy went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Samson went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Samson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Cienna Nightingale, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.
Mendon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bangor only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, Athens lost 13-3 to Reading on Saturday.
Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mendon, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Everything went Mendon's way against Athens in their previous meeting on April 14th, as Mendon made off with a 21-2 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
