The Skyview Wolverines stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thornton 72-25 on the road. With Skyview ahead 42-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Skyview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Kemm, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yzabella Tafoya, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Thornton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Skyview racked up 22 assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Skyview and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Thornton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyview will take on Aurora Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Thornton, Thornton and Adams City will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Adams City is ranked 228th, while Thornton is ranked 243rd).
