Even though the Monrovia Bulldogs have not done well against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Monrovia strolled past Greencastle with points to spare, taking the game 64-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monrovia.
Monrovia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mary Cox led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Grace Deaton, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Monrovia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Greencastle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.
Monrovia on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cascade at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Greencastle, they will square off against North Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (North Putnam is ranked 301st, while Greencastle is ranked 311th).
