The Halifax County Comets will take on the Magna Vista Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.
Halifax County barely beat Tunstall the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Logan Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Carter Thomasson and Jay Farmer did most of the damage at the plate: Thomasson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Farmer went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jaharie Edmonds was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Halifax County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .567 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Magna Vista got the win against Martinsville two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Magna Vista's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Halifax County, their record is now 11-7.
Halifax County couldn't quite finish off Magna Vista in their previous meeting on April 1st and fell 4-2. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
