The Richfield Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hutchinson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hutchinson took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Richfield, who comes in off a win.
Even though Richfield has not done well against Simley recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Richfield blew past Simley 63-28 at home. With Richfield ahead 39-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Aniiya Johnson and Desirai Chappell were among the main playmakers for Richfield as the former dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 steals and the latter scored 24 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Chappell has scored at least 25% of Richfield's points. Another player making a difference was Zarihana Rennie, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson was beaten by New Prague 73-21 on Thursday. Hutchinson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Richfield's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Simley's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Richfield was dealt a bruising 79-43 defeat at the hands of Hutchinson when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Richfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
