There wasn't a lot of overall movement in the power rankings this week, but with 16 teams changing position, that doesn't mean the week lacked for thrills. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Woodstock not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Windsor in every quarter. The final score between Woodstock and Windsor was a 48 - 0 blowout in Woodstock's favor. Woodstock did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. With eight consecutive wins, Woodstock boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Rutland and Burlington/South Burlington, 2nd and 9th in the power rankings, respectively. Rutland finished a few points shy of Burlington/South Burlington, taking a 33 - 27 hit to the loss column. Despite the defeat, Rutland might take consolation in the fact that it scored well against Burlington/South Burlington's defense, which allows only 12 points per game on average.

After a challenging last week, Rice Memorial now finds itself down three power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It lost to Colchester by a decisive 28 - 8 scoreline. Rice Memorial unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 38-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between St. Johnsbury Academy (5th in the power rankings) and Hartford (4th). St. Johnsbury Academy is backed by a win while Hartford is motivated by a recent defeat. Hartford has never lost back-to-back this season, but St. Johnsbury Academy hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
