The Juab Wasps had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-31 victory over Pine View. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Juab also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2016.
Juab can attribute much of their success to Ava Cuff, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cuff has scored at least 25% of Juab's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Richards, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Pine View saw an underclassman step up: Casey Morley scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pine View were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Juab only pulled down 18.
Juab's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Pine View, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juab has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Juan Diego Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on December 5th. Juan Diego Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Juab is ranked 21st). As for Pine View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillcrest at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
