After a string of five wins, the Buna Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to Vidor on the road by a decisive 54-36 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Buna in their matchups with Vidor: they've now lost four in a row.
Vidor had a senior duo take command as Raegan Stephenson scored 13 points and Madison Powell scored 10 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Stephenson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Perkins, who scored 8 points.
Buna's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Vidor, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Buna will square off against Lee at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1402nd, while Buna is ranked 298th). Vidor's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
