Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kalina Lambert and Edniya White Lead University to Victory

University's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Lake County Falcons 58-36. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

University was led to victory by Edniya White and Kalina Lambert. White went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while Lambert went 6 of 12 en route to 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Lambert's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaia Sims, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

University's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Lake County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

When University and Lake County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. University will try to stop Memphis School of Excellence Winchester's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. University's defense has only allowed 27.3 points per game this season, so Lake County's offense will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Lake County will try to stop Obion County's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
