The St. Genevieve Valiants had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Harvard-Westlake 22-21 on Friday. The win was just what St. Genevieve needed coming off of a 35-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
St. Genevieve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Frank Coreas led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Mike Wynn, who threw for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aidan Greenfield, who threw for 199 yards and a touchdown.
St. Genevieve's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Harvard-Westlake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
St. Genevieve does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harvard-Westlake also has no future games currently scheduled.
