Pamlico Christian Academy strolled past Calvary Baptist Church with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 52-38. That's another feather in the cap for Pamlico Christian Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Pamlico Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Howard, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Howard has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Hodge, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Pamlico Christian Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Calvary Baptist Church, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pamlico Christian Academy and Jacksonville Christian Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jacksonville Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Calvary Baptist Church on the road again on Thursday and play against Gramercy Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Gramercy Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Calvary Baptist Church likes a good challenge.
