After flying high against the North Springs Spartans last Tuesday, the Chattahoochee Cougars came back down to earth. Chattahoochee took a 44-28 bruising from Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday. Chattahoochee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greater Atlanta Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Berninger, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Loren Withrite, who scored 11 points.
Chattahoochee's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 14-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee will take on Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Springs is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
