Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Giles County Bobcats walked away with it. They blew past the Tigers 35-14. Giles County's victory was all the more impressive since Meigs County was averaging only 14.38 points allowed on the season.
Giles County's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zori Randolph, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Giles County also got a significant boost from Kamauri A turner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Giles County pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Meigs County, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Giles County will head out on the road to face off against Alcoa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alcoa is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Meigs County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
