Jones County had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Ola Mustangs by a score of 58-51 on Friday. The Greyhounds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ola lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Matin Bello, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Bello's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Thomas, who posted 14 points.

Jones County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-7. As for Ola, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Jones County will venture away from home to face off against Woodland at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Woodland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Ola, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-61 defeat against Locust Grove on the 14th.
