The Hayward Farmers had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Kennedy 56-53. With that win, Hayward brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Quincy Lavender continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. Lavender is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Montory (TJ) Moore , who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Hayward's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6. As for Kennedy, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hayward will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Amador Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Kennedy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
