Rustburg has won three straight games at home, while Jefferson Forest has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Rustburg will host Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rustburg 1.2, Jefferson Forest 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rustburg's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Brookville by a score of 4-0. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Bees recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

03/25/25 vs Alleghany | 6 |
03/21/25 vs Appomattox County | 21 |
03/18/25 vs Randolph-Henry | 12 |
The result came thanks to Laila Bigham's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Harley Johnson, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nahla Bigham, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Jefferson Forest hadn't beaten Staunton River on the road since April 1, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. Jefferson Forest put the hurt on Staunton River with a sharp 9-2 victory. Considering the Cavaliers have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Jefferson Forest also got a great performance from Amelia Long as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ashleigh Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taya Hall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Jefferson Forest's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Rustburg, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-0.
Rustburg was able to grind out a solid win over Jefferson Forest in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Rustburg repeat their success, or does Jefferson Forest has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
