The Lamar Silver Foxes suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 52-10 defeat at the hands of Lake View. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lamar in their matchups with Lake View: they've now lost eight in a row.
Lake View had a senior duo take command as Gwendasia Page dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 steals and Jaleya Ford scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Zy'Kiara Waters was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Lake View, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will challenge Green Sea Floyds at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Green Sea Floyds is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Lake View, they will head out on the road to face off against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hannah-Pamplico will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Lake View is ranked 71st).
