Middle Creek had a senior duo take command as Joi Pergerson scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals and Ava Skladanowski scored 14 points along with 7 steals. The match was Pergerson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zariyah McCord, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Garner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 55-41 fall against Orange. Garner found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Olivia Jacobs put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 28 points along with 8 steals and 3 blocks. She scored a full 68.3% of Garner's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sumayah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Middle Creek now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Garner, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Middle Creek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52 points per game. It's a different story for Garner, though, as they've been averaging only 41 per game. The only thing between Middle Creek and another offensive beatdown is Garner.
