Cherokee won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They came up short against the Cocke County Fighting Cocks, falling 70-50. The Chiefs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Cocke County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Cherokee will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on University School at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Cocke County also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
