The Blackfoot Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the Skyline Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blackfoot will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Blackfoot took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Shelley 10-2. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Jake Vance, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jace Cooper was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Skyline hadn't done well against Blackfoot recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way. The Grizzlies walked away with a 12-9 win over the Broncos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.
Hayden Nahay was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaak Hansen, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Blackfoot has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.1 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Blackfoot has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .485. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Blackfoot came up short against Skyline in their previous meeting on Friday, falling 12-9. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
