2A District 8 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Dade Christian's Mariel Steadman recorded the longest rushing play in 2A District 8 this season in his game against Westland Hialeah last week. Steadman ran for 65 yards on the play and finished with 138 on the day as his team bested the Wildcats.
Dade Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Westland Hialeah, 40-19. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Gregory La Stella put up the best numbers through the air as South Florida HEAT beat Princeton Christian. He finished with a total of six completions for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Kenny Lewis was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders defeated Mike Manasco's team. Lewis tallied one reception for 37 yards. Terrence Alls helped Dade Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback La Stella of South Florida HEAT is the league leader in passing yards this season with 499. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Dade Christian's Gary Sampson has rushed for 478 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Alls. The Dade Christian star has eight catches for 134 yards.
South Florida HEAT took down the Panthers 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. La Stella in the win.
