The Snohomish Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Kamiak Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Snohomish will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
On Friday, Snohomish made easy work of Mountlake Terrace and carried off a 14-3 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Abby Edwards was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Kamryn Best and Roz Girard did most of the damage at the plate: Best went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Girard went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Girard a new career-high. Maddy Larsen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Snohomish was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Kamiak made sure to put some runs up on the board against Edmonds-Woodway on Saturday. The Knights walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Warriors. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Gabby Veighey made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Veighey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Emma Stansfield was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Synclair Mawudeku was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Kamiak is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Snohomish, their record now sits at 10-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Snohomish hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Kamiak struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Snohomish might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Kamiak when the teams last played back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
