In what's become a running theme this season, the Walnut Grove Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Given Walnut Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Redhawks are ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Walnut Grove to victory were Aiden Hines and Parker Evanson. Hines scored 18 points, while Evanson scored 21 points. It was the first time this season that Hines scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Byron Scott, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Walnut Grove is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 7-21 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Walnut Grove will take on the Coyotes at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,326 points over their last 19 contests.
