Even though the Avalon Eagles have not done well against the Coolidge Yellowjackets recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Avalon came out on top against Coolidge by a score of 41-31. For Avalon, this counts as revenge for the 46-25 loss Coolidge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Avalon found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn De La Garza, who scored 25 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least 25% of Avalon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caty Betancourt, who scored 6 points.
Avalon's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Coolidge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Avalon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Perrin-Whitt at 2:00 p.m. As for Coolidge, they will face off against Dawson at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
