The Marion Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Sacred Heart Academy 48-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Marion, who have now won eight matches by 34 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Prielipp , who rushed for 69 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Cole Meyer, who rushed for 204 yards on only 14 carries.
Marion's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Aaron Whitney and Meyer who racked up seven sacks between them.
Marion's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Marion will square off against Lake Linden-Hubbell at TBD on Saturday. Lake Linden-Hubbell is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Sacred Heart Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
