Baseball Recap: Apex Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Apex was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Middle Creek Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

JUSTIN DAVIS was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Apex saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ADRIAN GONZALEZ, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Apex moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Middle Creek, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Coming up, Apex will face off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle Creek will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' match: after the Cougars faces off against the Chargers, they'll take on Middle Creek again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
