Softball Recap: Marion Harding Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Marion Harding had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Franklin Heights on Saturday. The Presidents blew past the Falcons 21-3. The victory was nothing new for the Presidents as they're now sitting on three straight.

Marion Harding got a massive performance out of Macey Harper, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Harper a new career-high. Lilianna King was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Marion Harding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Marion Harding's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Franklin Heights, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion Harding will host Westland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Presidents are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Franklin Heights, they will take on Bexley at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
