Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Oak Hill

Oak Hill won against Anderson last Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Golden Eagles beat the Wabash Apaches by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. For the Golden Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Apaches walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Oak Hill got a great performance from Harison York as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Archer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevaunte Simmons, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Oak Hill and bumps their season record up to 3-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Wabash, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hill will head out to square off against Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wabash, they will venture away from home to challenge Bluffton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
