The Lamar Silver Foxes were the 67-55 winner over the Lake View Wild Gators when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Lamar took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake View.
When it comes to explaining why Lamar lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is NyShaun "Shaun" Quillen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Quillen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jacari Mitchell, who scored five points along with five steals.
Lake View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Ray, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Umphries, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Lamar's defeat was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Lake View, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-11.
Lamar will be playing at home against Green Sea Floyds at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lamar is facing Green Sea Floyds at the right time seeing as Green Sea Floyds is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Lake View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
